Style Basics: Hairstyle Trends for Fall
It’s autumn, and as you dust off that fall wardrobe – and head out shopping to add a few pieces – it’s also time to think about a hairstyle change to go with the new season. We’ve looked through the latest hairstyle trends for fall, and here are a few of our favorites to inspire you!
The first order of business is bangs. Bangs are an important trend, and for this fall we’re seeing two distinct patterns: baby bangs and curtain bangs. Baby bangs are super short, cut into fringe-style layers, and looking especially great with a mid-length wave or shag style. Curtain bangs are the opposite – very long, parted in the middle and draped dramatically to frame the face. They go great with a long, naturally wavy style.
While beach waves are still a trend for long hair, for fall they are switched up a bit with a wet look or a messy, bed-head style. Ponytails and up-do’s also make long hair fun – and be sure to dress them up with accessories like headbands, bows, and claw clips.
Bobs are the top trend for short hair, whether angled, straight, or curly. For an interesting change, ask your stylist about finger waves, a classic and elegant 1940’s style that looks perfect in a bob cut. Another fun style for short hair is the pixie, which when layered, angled, and parted on the side, is a full-volume, easy-care style.
For the most part, middle parts are the style for fall. The slicked-back look is also popular, both for long and short styles. Whether you have natural curls or need a perm, rich, luxurious curls are trending this fall.
